One of Coconutty's purposes is to benefit the social and economic conditions of local coconut farmers and workers in the producer region. Our coconut grower is a member of the Fair Trade Sustainability Alliance. Working together we ensure that everything that goes in to making a finished jar of Coconutty coconut oil is kept local - including dispensing into jars and the finished label printing - it's all done on-site. We believe this is preferable to the practice of importing in large drums. After pressing the oil, the coconuts' uses have just begun! The same coconuts are then used to make coconut flour and coconut milk, while the shell and husk are made into rope, mattress fibre, plant pots, charcoal.... nothing goes to waste. From cultivating to harvesting through to the final packing - all come under the motto of sustainability.
