Kefir means 'feel good" in Turkish. It's an ancient cultured, enzyme-rich food filled with friendly micro-organisms.

When added to coconut water, Kefir's tart and refreshing flavour is similar to a drinking-style yogurt, and it contains friendly 'probiotic' bacteria. 

Use with Fresh Green Coconuts or Organic Coconut Water 

To create your own wonderful fizzy, sour, champagne-like drink, teaming with beneficial microflora, simply add a packet of Kefir Starter to coconut water and leave to ferment in a glass preserve jar at a warm room temperature for 36 hours (instructions included). It is what it says - a 'starter' meaning you can use time and again by saving some to start the culture for the next batch. Kefir contains many nutrients, including Vitamins A, D, K, plus the minerals calcium and magnesium along with amino acids and enzymes.

Preparation: Use one packet per litre of coconut water and leave to ferment in a glass preserve jar. A small amount saved from each batch can be used to make a new batch and so on, up to seven times. For best results we recommend using with fresh green coconuts or Cocowell pure coconut water.

Although Kefir may seem similar to yoghurt, Kefir is considered by some as more healthful. Unlike yoghurt, the Kefir you make at home is not pasteurised and it contains several major strains of friendly bacteria not commonly found in yoghurt - plus, it's easily digestible.

The Kefir Culture Starter system is easy, fun to make at home, and highly economical.
